Edwardian gold locket with an interesting history it bears an inscription stating that it contained a lock of the hair of the great welsh poet and novelist Thomas Hardy and was presented by his widow Florence to Sydney Cockerell the director of the Fitzwilliam Museum who had acted as Hardys executor.
